Stretching Watercolour Paper Easily!
Such useful info! I've been hesitating about entering a show because of all the hassle involved, but you make it look do-able and fun. I'm now ready to try it. Thank you!
No link for this palette?
@@heatherlundquist-buffalo no, I don’t remember where I got this but there are many similar palettes available
I am new to watercolor, and loved this video. I’ve struggled with clouds, and you gave a lot of good tips in this video. Thank you so much!
THANKS SHELLEY. I LOVE GREENS. COULD YOU PAINT ONE MORE GREEN LANDSCAPE? ONE IS NOT ENOUGH TO LEARN FROM YOU.
Amazing. Greetings from Turkey. I have to work very hard to paint like you.🙋♀️
Thank you for the amazing lesson. You are a wonderful teacher. Inspirational!
I love all the reflection on the water.
Nice lesson! Thank you Shelley!
Excellent!!!! Thank you so much! Have you used Mod Podge for mounting?
@@kerbear829 thank you. I have not used mod podge as I need a permanent, waterproof glue to hold the paper. When I use wet washes, I don’t want the glue to soften or lift.
Totally enjoy your tutorials. I am just a beginner and enjoying it!
Shelley ,thanks for your video , do you need more artist brushes ?
Fabulous tutorial…..thank you
I love line and wash but I realize now watching your video that it looks do much better with different colors of lines insted of just black like I had been doing it Thanks
YAY!!!! I'm the 777 LIKE!!!! I feel like I won something!?! LOL Love the videos as an artist I find them so inspirational and informative! Thank You!
Just an amazing demonstration!
Thank you! This is something I wanted to paint for a while.
You have just a way to make things (that one might have known allready) snap in place. Thank you very much!
What an amazing tutorial today! Thank you, Shelley! I learned so much. Can’t wait to apply this to my own artwork.
wow! wonderful! love this
A great lesson, Shelley! You’ve explained everything so well. I watch your videos every week and they are always a learning experience, clearly explained and fun to paint along with. Thank you!
Thank you so enjoyed your video, very pretty painting and wow surroundings. Am going to subscribe.
Pure genius! What a great lesson in composition and value. Thank you so much for sharing.
Excellent demo. Thank you!
Shelly, absolutely amazing demo today. I learnt so much from watching this video. I really enjoy your Wednesday tutorials. Thank you.
thank you for a great lesson!
Thank Shelley this was helpful and I really liked this❤
Shelly I Love,Love, Love this! Thank you so very much! I am going to watch this over and over until I can get mine close to yours.❤️❤️❤️
Very helpful presentation!
Shelly, I love your work! You explain what you are doing and making it easier to do. Thank you so very much for all your help and videos that you give us. I live close to Chatham Ontario. I so wish I could just sit by you and we can paint together. You make me feel like we are friends ❤
The first time I have ever understood why I should be doing prepainting , Shelly you have unlocked my stubborn mind 🥰!!!
Beautiful! I agree, I love the sky and I love dramatic skies! Thanks for sharing. I am going to try this also. I love all your paintings, you are very talented!
Thumbnails and value studies seem time consuming but I find they save time when you get to painting!
That was a very cool exercise. Thankyou for that. I'm anxious to get started.
Great presentation , Bob
Can't hear the first few minutes.
@@letimetcalfe4494 I know 🙁. Power outage again! Must have happened while I was away. I’ll be editing out the silent part as soon as UA-cam finishes processing this livestream.
Hello, I'd hope today would be my first time attending a live youtube session, but missed the time change of 3 hours for me. Next week maybe? Grateful for the recording. Love your art Shelley,
This was a very good exercise 🙏 Shelley
Have a lovely holiday ❤❤
You talk too much. I don't care where people are tuning in from.
I just found you. I am soo happy! I love your paint. It looks so easy and cheerful! Thank you! Love from Buenos Aires .
Hi Shelley!! Love your videos! Would this technique work for a larger paper, like 24” x 36”? And would gatorboard still be a good option to staple the paper to?
I generally only use pen in my sketchbooks but having said that, I would likely use a nib pen if working that large so that the pen lines have some variation. Certainly larger canvas would indicate larger pens. Yes, I always stretch on wood if working larger than a 1/2 sheet. Otherwise, gatorboard works just fine for stretching.
Back in the 1970s when I had a gift and plant shop, I also did leather work. I was never happy with the black dye was sold commercially. Why? Because the black seemed to come through brownish. But after a little experimentation, I started doing the first coat on projects like belts with a blue dye. And then I would put a black dye over that. And that made the black look really black. Later, as I became involved in graphic design I found out that many commercial printers use something called a rich black, which not only consisted of black, but also some magenta and some cyan.
Ваши облака невероятные, волшебные удивительно настоящие! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hi from Australia. You are a great teacher Shelley, thank yoi!❤
Wow! You rock Shelley👏, that’s amazing! Thank you for taking the time and putting all this energy into a great session! ❤
The picture of the tea pot for this video is misleading, as it is a fruitbowel you are painting. I had hoped to see you paint the tea pot.
Sorry. Didn’t mean to mislead. I posted something similar before doing the livestream. Now that it’s painted, I’ll change it.
@@sanctityjohnson289 it was a sincere response. No rudeness intended in the least. I just got home and have changed the thumbnail. I wasn’t able to post the finished image until afterwards since it was a livestream.
@@shelleypriorfineart I meant for azalea to be so demanding 🙈😅. I'm glad you didn't see it that way. I'll delete my last comment then. Meant to come to your defense😇 not the other way! (Sorry!)
thank you for your videos. there is one danger to using salt, that i know of 1st hand. i sold a painting to an individual who lives in a tropical climate, and the painting (tho' the salt was removed from the surface of the paper) caused condensation under the glass (of the framed picture). so there is a danger of that condensation ruining the artwork.
Never heard that. Not sure why it would do that but good to know.
Thank you!! This was so calming to watch. Love it
You are incredible! Wednesday live even during your holidays! Thanks so much and enjoy ! 😊☀️
thank you. Again superb!!
